Warner Bros. denies Friends film

In an update to a report filed July 3, Warner Bros. denies that a movie adaptation of the hit Friends television series is in the works, says the IMDb Studio Briefing. Rumor had it that the success of Sex and the City had inspired the studio to bring Friends to the big screen.

Friends reunite for film?

Following the success of Sex and the City, another television series may soon be getting the big screen treatment. Insiders tell Mail Online that Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer will star in a movie adaptation of Friends. The project is said to start “within the next 18 months.”

Warner Bros. to support The Women

According to Deadline Hollywood Daily, Warner Bros. has decided to give Diane English’s remake of The Women wider distribution and larger marketing than the studio had once planned. The move is partially due to the success of Sex and the City. Now with a marketing budget of $25M-$30M, The Women will open on September 12.
